Follow young Kate as she learns why Grandpa is becoming so
forgetful and gains an understanding of his condition. This wise
young lady questions not just what can be done about the changes
Alzheimer's will bring, but also how she can help Grandpa as he
goes through this difficult time. Together they go thru photographs
and use his memories to create a scrapbook. This well-meaning book
is clearly and lovingly written. Kate is admittedly "wise beyond
her age," which serves the author well as the child becomes the
voice of reason. Author: Maria Shriver

What we like best about this product:
Alzheimer’s, dementia and forgetfulness in old age are hard enough
for we adults to understand, much less a young child of only five
or six. This book, featuring Kate, who herself is only (about)
eight years old, explains this disease in words and ways a child
can understand, emphasizing loving the man that Grandpa is and all
the fun they have had together, rather than focusing on his current
troubles remembering.
