Touching the spirit of the individual and their religious roots appears to defy the challenges of dementia. Those who cannot remember their daughter’s name can miraculously recall the lyrics of their favorite hymn; those who cannot find their way home can still remember lines of scripture. Perhaps there is little in the way of a medical explanation for these miracles, but spiritual and religious products are clearly a favorite among people with Alzheimer’s.
