Make it
easier for your loved one to sit down and stand up from the toilet.
The Helping Hand Grab Bar attaches to the wall in front of
the toilet, offering a secure bar to hold onto while they lower
themselves down or pull themselves up.
Assisting a loved one sit or stand at the toilet is an awkward
and back-breaking experience. So, let the Helping Hand Grab
Bar do the heavy work.
The
Helping Hand Grab Bar mounts on the wall directly in front
of the toilet. When needed, it folds up, locks in place and extends
almost a full twelve inches out from the wall. In a typical 5' x 8'
bathroom, this is close enough to be reached by someone sitting on
the toilet. Standing or sitting can now be controlled by the person
with AD. Holding onto the bar, they can stand or sit as slow or as
fast as they want.
The
Helping Hand Grab Bar can withstand over 600 lbs of
sustained weight directly on the easy lift auto-locking extension
armature.
The
Helping Hand Grab Bar is ADA & ADAAG compliant and has
passed NAHB testing for ASTM F446-93 and is a DME Medicare
registered device.
What we like best about this
product:
So many
frightened, confused people panic when asked to sit down on a
toilet that they cannot see. When gravity wins over, it's not their
back that suffers, it's the caregiver's. Yet here is the answer.
The Helping Hand Grab Bar allows the person with AD full
control, yet still gets the job done -- preserving dignity at the
same time.
The
Helping Hand Grab Bar can be installed:
a)
directly attached to the studs in your wall. (Studs are typically
16" or 24" on center. Tap on your wall or use a stud finder to make
sure you order the right Helping Hand Grab Bar for your stud
spacing), or
b)
attached to a wood plate (which itself is attached securely to the
studs in your wall)(wood plate not included). Refer to the
picture.
Any
contractor or good handyman should be able to install the
