A Walk in the Garden

This large print, lay flat book features verses from poetry to Scripture, all dealing with the topic of God and nature. Text (on one page) is limited to only one sentence - simple thoughts that are easily grasped and appreciated. Beautiful, full color drawings are displayed on the opposite page – look at the pictures, hear the text and relate to the wonder of nature and God – be it in your own back yard or somewhere more worldly.

For the befuddled, but devoted gardener, no longer interested in balancing nitrogen with potassium in the garden fertilizer, this book simply and wonderfully combines the beauty of nature, poetry and spiritual verse. Each page features a line from William Shakespeare to a Biblical verse that touches on nature – be it a rabbit in the garden or Matthew 6:28-29 – “Consider the lilies of the field, ...” On the opposite page is a full-color drawing illustrating the thought and reinforcing the concept. “Did you ever grow daylilies? What color were they?” These verses and illustration are sure to bring a smile, a memory and conversation.

Product Features:

  • The book itself measures 12-1/2" x 9-1/2" and lays flat so that it can be shared and seen by more than one person at a time
  • Print is extra large and high contrast, easily seen by someone with visual challenges or not seated too close
  • This book is not overly complicated, but rather simple and easy to understand and enjoy - text is short, reflective and the artwork is simple, yet colorful.

What we like best about this product:

  • The pictures are large scale and full of color - easily seen and appreciated, whether you are listening to the text or not
  • No stories to follow or characters to remember, each page is independent, yet uniquely beautiful and inspirational
  • This book is reminiscent of life, nature and anyone who has grown a flower or planted tomatoes
